1. What is Pride Month?
Pride Month is an entire month dedicated to the celebration of the LGBTQIA+ culture. Every year in June the world shows support to the LGBTQIA+ community. During this month, people from the LGBTQIA+ communities from all over the world, come together to celebrate the freedom to be their authentic and amazing selves.
2. Why Pride?
Pride is about people coming together to display and celebrate how far LGBT+ rights have come and how much more there is to achieve. It is about equality, acceptance, education and above all, love. It is about taking pride in who you are.
3. Why do we celebrate Pride Month?

4. How do people celebrate Pride Month?
• There are month long gatherings that take place across the world including pride parades, marches, parties, concerts, workshops and symposiums.
• Memorials are held for the members of LGBTQIA+ community who have lost lives to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS.
• The LGBTQIA+ flag is prominently displayed throughout the month of June.
5. How to show your support from home?
Being affected by a global pandemic has resulted in the inability to go out. But fear not, as there are plenty of ways to show your support from home: • Hang a Pride flag outside your home.
• Place a Pride sticker on your vehicle.
• Host your own Pride themed movie night.
• Wear Pride clothing.
• Join virtual events.
• Be an ally to your LGBTQIA+ colleagues, friends and family members.
• Support LGBTQIA+ organizations in schools and colleges.
• Contribute to businesses that support the LGBTQIA+ community.
